Lori’s Musings

In 2004 at the collapse of my belief in the civil service system to adequately and as mandated meet the reasonable criteria of protecting the abused and at risk children of New Brunswick while I was serving in a professional capacity,  as a Social Worker in Child Protection,  I was forced into silence and solitude as I began to make the professional changes I needed to by leaving the Child Protection division and securing another position that kept me away from the reach of those people who administrated Child Protection services provincially.  As I knew from the moment of the fateful day of a child’s death by horrific abuse while under the service of the the institution, I would advance to determine why this might occur in the structures that were mandated to protect her and clearly did not.

Being well familiar,  from my personal family history, that I would become a target as I advanced, I went silent and alone. However during the years that followed I placed my views and my suffering in writing through Musings and Poetry.  My voice was never lost I simply placed it and recorded it, where I knew I would be safe to do so.

Grace continued to always flow through my being and for that I am forever thankful.
