Self Compassion

A self compassion practice is wonderfully helpful to those of us with childhood abuse and neglect histories, as a form of re-parenting ourselves, to learn to meet our needs and care for ourselves in ways we never saw or felt as children.

A self compassion practice is also healing and reparative for surviving stressful, suffering times in our lives. It is also restorative after ending a toxic relationship, experiencing a tragedy or trauma, a job that has exhausted us or we no longer enjoy, or after going through a medical or mental health crisis in ourselves or those we care for.

Overall a self compassion daily practice on it’s own merit allows us to meet our own personal and emotional needs so that we are giving to those around us from a place of fullness and love as opposed to obligation, guilt or expectation.
