Pathway to Emotional Wellness:
Learn to name the specific emotion you may be experiencing. Refer to an emotion chart to assess the expanse of possibilities, match physical sensations in the body and thought patterns to help identify the root of emotion.
NAME the emotion out loud to yourself or others, on paper in the form of journaling, poetry, write letters that you do not intent to send or maybe will send. Begin the opening with
“I FEEL”.
CLAIM the emotion as the experience of having the emotion positive or negative is coming directly from inside you. It is unique to your experience of living.
Allow yourself to RELEASE the emotion in healthy ways. Channel the inner emotional truth outward into an activity, an expression, or simply a surrender.
